Are you aware of C.A.R.D.S.?
The main objectives of C.A.R.D.S. are threefold:
1. To represent the interests of member airlines in achieving optimum distribution of their product and services through Automated Distribution Systems.
2. To encourage technological research and development in the field of automated distribution for the benefit of the Airline and Travel Industry.
3. To educate members in respect of current systems and future developments.
C.A.R.D.S. is aware that Distribution also impacts other areas, such as Revenue Management and Revenue Integrity and is expanding our objectives to include those related areas.
Technology and Distribution throughout the Airline industry is rapidly changing. With the increasing use of more powerful PCs, faster processing and the use of the Internet for rapid data transfer, the CRSs and 3rd Party vendors can assist airlines to more efficiently control airline inventory, reduce costs and increase revenue.
The C.A.R.D.S. membership is made up mainly of airlines Sales, Marketing and Head Office Distribution staff from many airlines operating into and out of Europe. We also have members from the CRSs and 3rd Party Vendors who regularly update us with their new products. It also gives us the opportunity to discuss matters with the CRSs and for them to meet their customers.
C.A.R.D.S. meetings are usually for one day beginning with at 10.00 a.m. Coffee is available from 9.30 a.m. The length of the meeting varies depending on the agenda. We have a working
Lunch so not to waste time enabling overseas members to catch their afternoon and evening flights.
There is an membership fee of only £50 p.a. per company, you can have as many ailine memebrs as you wish for the single fee. There are no individual meeting fees and the membership fee allows more than one representative to attend the meetings.
